Some flyers spend their trip kicked back, watching the latest flick or two, others catch up on their book backlog. These artists used their free in-flight moments to create something special. Headed to New York from Zurich to install their forthcoming exhibition Painting and Jugs (opening this Wednesday, May 2), Bastien Aubry, Dimitri Broquard, Linus Bill, and Adrien Horni capitalized on their free moments to create SWISS inspired artworks— Bill captured a shot of Horni mid-collage, while Aubry and Broquard tried their hand at a post-meal digestif drafting session. In-flight entertainment below.

Carissa Rodriguez made a beautiful piece for the SI lobby. Her invitation to drink a Tommy Rowles, either at Bemelman’s, Upper East or at Kronenhalle Bar in Zurich, involves an eminent barman, on duty since 51 years (Bemelman’s, day shift 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), two legendary bars on each side of the Atlantic and an iconic coaster (Kronenhalle) that Rodriguez used as pattern on a pleaded skirt that she wore during the opening. A Tommy Rowles is said to be pretty strong. Some people say it is better to drink moderately than to abstain…

Here’s Lucas and Steven installing. We like how they pilfer other people’s design and remix photography. Go to Philadelphia to see their show at Vox Populi: Steven Baldi, Lucas Knipscher, Piper Marshall, up until Feb 28.
