In Flight Entertainment | Nic Hess
During his SWISS flight to NYC, Nic Hess took a moment to meditate on the design which now adorns Swiss Institute’s façade. Appropriately, this sketch depicts birds– the animal and an industrial counterpart– as well as migration. Hope you enjoy this segment of in-flight entertainment!

In-Flight
We all have our in-flight rituals that help us to relax on the plane. For her SWISS flight, Hannah Weinberger compiled this playlist– we invite you to listen along.
Togetheratfaced is a platform where short video clips are aggregated and stored by Thomas Julier and Cédric Eisenring. The footage has been gathered over the past few years, and the artists use their youtube channel a public archive.
Julier and Eisenring shoot segments that capture interstitial actions. The sun, a skyline, or a palm tree slightly swaying in the wind —these generic moments could be easily inserted into films, music videos, and advertisements, yet only as transitions. As clips, stretched out over time, they emphasize attitude over narrative.
The archived material is content for the artists’ continuous streaming feed on www.faced.ch A white screen with video content in the middle, viewers can expand the image full-screen and watch it on any device with an internet connection.
Opening Soundtrack (2012) is the invitation to Hannah Weinberger’s exhibition Le Moi Du Toi at Swiss Institute / Contemporary Art New York. The show will open on June 26th. We are excited to share this special invite with you!
