At
the Swiss Institute, the best of the new Franco-Belgian-Swiss
scene replaced the fruitful dialogue between Eric Hattan and
Zoe Leonard. There was also Bruno Peinado’s Big
One World, a character by Daniel Firman, a mural by Stephen
Daflon, a carpet by Virginie Barré, a reconstitution
of the Village People pop group by Olivier Blanckart, Gianni’s
Motti American Flag, Stéphane Sautour’s animal
robots, a fan by Roman Signer and a tattooed pig by Wim Delvoye.
A space of freedom on neutral ground. The snow fell, the bombs
waited, the dogs barked.
