Tom Burr / Walter Pfeiffer | The New Yorker
Dec 24 2007
The eroticism of space and architecture are explored in this joint exhibition, which marries Burr’s riffs on minimalist sculpture with Pfeiffer’s photographs. Pants, dress shirts, and socks have been draped over bits of unfinished furniture in the sculptural contribution, which Burr conceived, in different form, for an uninhabited unit in a Le Corbusier-designed apartment building in France. Pfeiffer’s pictures introduce faces into the mix: short-haired lads mugging for the camera. Viewed together, the projects conjure up the scene of a cheeky kept boy, hanging around his sugar daddy’s well-appointed apartment.
