Book Launch | C is for Curator with Bice Curiger and Dora Imhof
Wed | 6:30PM
Please join us for the launch of C is for Curator. Bice Curiger – A Life in Art. Written by the art historian Dora Imhof, C is for Curator illuminates the manifold activities of the curator, editor, and writer Bice Curiger. The book documents and analyzes in depth the founding and development of the art magazine Parkett and the breadth of Curiger’s exhibitions —from her groundbreaking 1975 exhibition Frauen sehen Frauen (Women Seeing Women) to the 2011 Venice Biennale to her current projects at the Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles. Curiger’s trajectory is contextualized within the history of curating, the globalization of the art world, and the institutionalization of contemporary art over the last four decades. During the reception and signing, there will be a brief Q&A with Curiger, Imhof and SI Director Stefanie Hessler.
To RSVP, please write to rsvp@swissinstitute.net.
