Jasper Spicero Screening and Conversation at Swiss Institute

Swiss Institute is delighted to present a screening of Jasper Spicero’s two most recent films: The Glady Day and Centinel, the latter of which is part of Spicero’s solo exhibition currently on view in SI’s lower level gallery. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Spicero and SI Associate Curator Alison Coplan. 

The Glady Day (24 min)
A troubled boy named Glady Day journeys through an experiential therapy program called Centennial Elevator Industries.

Centinel (45 min)
Two angels communicate between a music therapy center for the blind and a spiritual retreat inhabited by a confused family of historical re-enactors.

Jasper Spicero (b. 1990, Yankton, South Dakota) lives and works in New York. He has had recent solo exhibitions at Mother Culture, Los Angeles (2018); Times Square Space, New York (2018); LUMA Westbau, Zürich (as part of Americans 2017, 2017); and Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (as part of Co-Workers – Network as Artist, 2015). He has had duo-exhibitions with Alex Dolan at Important Projects, Oakland (2013) and with Win McCarthy at The Rudolph Steiner Bookstore, New York (2018).
