ARTBOOK @ SWISS INSTITUTE

Sep 16 2014 - May 24 2015

ARTBOOK @ SWISS INSTITUTE — a pop up bookstore in SoHo — debuts on Tuesday, September 16th from 5pm to 8pm during the opening of Swiss Institute’s Annual Design Series in their space at 18 Wooster Street.

A new concept in bookselling, ARTBOOK @ SWISS INSTITUTE will be freshly installed with an entirely new thematic focus, new choice of titles, and eclectic selection of publishers every two months. Browsers and collectors alike will be treated to a library-quality display of new releases, classic titles, museum catalogues, out-of-print and rare books, hard-to-find treasures, indie magazines, and limited editions. Each theme store is conceived in collaboration between ARTBOOK’s Skuta Helgason and the Swiss Institute’s Simon Castets with input from represented curators and artists.

ARTBOOK @ SWISS INSTITUTE will open to the public on Tuesday, September 16th from 5pm to 8pm and again on Friday, September 19th from 5pm to 8pm. In step with architect Andreas Angelidakis’ curatorial homage to Eugène Ionesco’s play “The Chairs,” the fall store brings together an international selection of furniture design books with a spotlight on chair design.

The bookstore will be open to the public during Swiss Institute’s regular gallery hours, events and on special public shopping days.  For an up-to-date calendar of ARTBOOK @ SWISS INSTITUTE opening dates and times, please click here.
