The S I is pleased to present French artist RENAUD AUGUSTE-DORMEUIL's project The Day Before_Star System, which is comprised of images of the night sky on the eves of historic events.

Powerful software, with a catalogue of the historical behavior of more than 2,500 stars, enables us to display the map of the night's sky given exact mesurements of place and date.

The Day Before_Star System is a photographic project that presents sky map from "the day before" historical military bombings. The night sky from before the tragedies of Guernica (April 25,1937), Hiroshima (August 5, 1945), Nagasaki (August 8, 1945), Sarajevo (August 28, 1994), and Baghdad (January 15, 1991) will be displayed at the Swiss Institute on the days before the anniversary of September 11.
