Two Critics | One Artist: Gregory Volk

As an art writer and curator, Gregory Volk has maintained an ardent interest in Roman Signer and his work since the early 1990s. Volk’s presentation will focus on how Signer is a remarkable, and also extremely unorthodox, practitioner of figurative public sculpture, although many of those sculptures are exceedingly brief. Volk will also discuss working with Roman Signer on exhibitions, traveling with the artist to visit some of his favored sites in Switzerland, and the enduring importance of Iceland to the artist’s work.
