Joseph Baan (b. 1990, lives and works in Zurich) is an artist and educator whose practice engages in art, performance, education and collaboration as ways of forging creative resurgence. They are interested in the complexities of collectivity and in the possibility of establishing forms of solidarity that do not homogenize, but affirm difference. Their current research investigates the political currency of incoherence and performative strategies of ambiguity, dissociation, and conflict, asking what aspects of performance might angle towards liberation or a negotiation of the constraints that one is born into.

Upcoming exhibitions and performances include: Structures of Unfeeling at BINZ39 and Tanzhaus Zürich (2024); Bl0Wn at Time Crystals, Amsterdam (2024); Mit dem Löwen Tanzen at Museum der Moderne, Salzburg (2024); Say Crack Again at UP ON Festival, Chengdu (2025).
